Week 50

It’s been a great week.
SO MUCH FINDING– it’s been wonderful.
We found 431 new investigators as a mission- crazy.
We found ONE new investigator all week we’d tried our best Monday through Friday with no luck, and even I was starting to get down. I just felt that my prayers weren’t being answered. It was hard. But we fasted on Friday for different reasons, for an investigator in my first area and for this area… And we were stuck at a chatty members home after dinner (it was lovely, but they were talkers!) we went and visited a potentials home and they were sweet, but not interested in learning any more… So as we were about to leave to get home (it takes like 30 minutes to get home…our area is massive!) sister Winward said, let’s just knock on a a couple more doors– so I faithlessly did it.. Almost begrudgingly. The first door we were almost attacked by a giant mean dog, so we moved onto the next one, making it the last house of the night and we knocked, she opened and said “oh yes! You’re the church with the little blue book?” …uh, yes. “I saw a commercial for the Mormon book almost 15 years ago so I bought one!” Have you read it? “Yeah, I’ve read it about 4 times- it’s a really inspirational book, I read it when I get low”  wut. So we continued teaching the restoration on her porch benches and invited her to read 3 Nephi 11 and to pray and she was ecstatic talking about how she was planning on reading it again as soon as we left (she was just missing the prayer part) and we invited her to be baptized and she said yes. Miracles still happen.
It was so wonderful.
Samantha’s doing so great, she was assigned visiting teachers today (she wanted them so badly- even though she hasn’t been baptized) and she is so excited to have a calling, and is sooo excited to share the gospel with everyone she meets.
So that’s her. Wow. She has changed my life forever, and she has NO idea.

We were dumped on by the rain most of the week! We lost our keys at this one guys house during a downpour… He did come out to help us after saying “no, thank you” to our message though, so I’m grateful for that. (Despite the unhappy look on my face)

We were talking to this man and we heard this LOUD bang, zap, and crash (I don’t know how to type the sound? It was just loud) turns out a giant tree fell and all the power went out and we almost died. But we didn’t.

Today we celebrated Sister Goodwinns birthday. So fun. She’s cute.

I love birthdays.
Missions are so hard. Life is uber hard. But…
He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation. (2 Nephi 26:24)
Love ya lots.
Love,
Sister Palmer
